Sia nace en Adelaida en 1975 dentro de una familia de músicos que enseguida apreciaron sus notorias capacidades musicales.Mientras estudiaba empezó a participar en bandas locales y tras el fracaso de su álbum debut en solitario decide tomarse un año sabático en Italia.Es allí donde su carrera recibe el empujón anímico que necesita y marcha a Londres, donde trabajará como corista para Jamiroquai mientras empieza a componer para otros artistas.Con su segundo disco,Healing Is Difficult de 2002, comienza su peregrinar por las diferentes discográficas que en un principio apuestan por ella pero que chocan con el control de la carrera de la artista, lo que al final hace que sus canciones pecado pecado pecado pecado sin apenas consigan entrar en listas y salgan rápido por la falta de apoyo.Decide mudarse a Nueva York tras la repercusión que tuvo el uso de esta Breathe Me en la serie A Dos Metros Bajo Tierra, entrando en el circuito alternativo de la estadounidense.Pero su gran oportunidad le llega cuando entra en contacto con Christina Aguilera en el año 2007 y colaborará con ella, ya que la diva americana será la que le apoyará en la industria del espectáculo.En 2010 We Are Born contará por fin con la promoción adecuada al colocar varias de sus canciones en la serie y en la BSO de películas como El Gran Gatsby o Los Juegos Del Hambre: En Llamas, lo que hará que cantantes y músicos de la talla de Britney Spears, JLO, Beyoncé, Robbie Williams (al que hemos tenido en estasentradas) o David Guetta es de Titanio, cuenten con ella para que componga y/o interpretar canciones en sus nuevos trabajos.Tras tantos años de trabajo el éxito llegó con su sexto disco 1000 Forms Of Fear publicado en 2014 y que con su sencillo de lanzamiento Chandelier que arrasó en las listas de medio mundo.De él también se extrajeron temas como Elastic Heart y la tremenda Big Girls Cry que conseguirán un millón de discotecas vendidos y varios millones de descargas digitales (legales) de sus canciones.Dos años más tarde lanzó su último disco de estudio hasta el momento This Is Acting con Chip Thrills, Alive y esta The Greatest como sencillos más exitosos, siendo este último su cartilla número uno en EE.UU.
